This section includes a variety of organisations who are involved in local environmental issues. Some may generate or use records, others may be involved in conservation or management.

Icon1 Chelmer Canal Trust link Aims to preserve the waterway and it's associated conservation area, from Chelmsford to the sea and to enhance the quality of its public enjoyment and appreciation. The Trust provides a forum for the assembly and focus of the views of all interested people, and organises special events, lectures, socials, cruises, and working parties.

Icon1 Essex Badger Protection Group link Carry out regular patrols to monitor badger setts, conduct area surveys of the badgers' habitat when threatened by highway and building projects, and the rehabilitation of sick or injured badgers.

Icon1 Essex Field Club link Regular field meetings are held, often focusing on particular interests or species groups, and County Recorders co-ordinate and maintain detailed records and information on the Essex flora, fauna and geology.

Icon1 Essex Wildlife Trust link Aims to Protect Wildlife for the Future and for the People of Essex. Manages over 90 reserves throughout Essex and provides conservation advice to individuals and organisations.

Icon1 Harlow Badger Group link are a band of enthusiastic and passionate volunteers that are driven to try and help the badgers that live in and around Harlow. They meet bi-monthly at Parndon Wood Nature Reserve in Harlow.

Icon1 North East Essex Badger Group link Are a badger protection group, who aim to promote the protection of wildlife, and in particular, badgers in North East Essex. They also educate the public in all aspects of the study of badgers, their habitat and conservation.

Icon1 Uttlesford Badger Group Members of the group are involved in a large number of activities, such as locating and recording of new setts, regularly patrolling setts to check them for disturbance and constructing artificial setts.
