We are in the process of developing products and services to provide users with comprehensive and up to date information of biodiversity in Essex.

We are not currently able to provide a data request service, so please continue to contact the records sources directly.

For species data and information on protected and notable species please contact the County Recorders at the Essex Field Club .

For Local Wildlife Sites information, further information on protected species records and other records contact Essex Ecology Services, the consultancy arm of Essex Wildlife Trust at or on 01621 862986.

For information on birds contact the Essex Birdwatching Society .

For information on badgers you can visit the Essex Badger Group  website.

For National and European wildlife sites information, including Sites of Special Scientific Interest, Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas, please consult Natural England  or MAGIC .

Essex County Council  (Landscape, Ecology and Trees department) can provide information on Essex County Council Tree Preservation Orders, Special Verges and Local Wildlife Sites.

For District Tree Preservation Orders please contact the relevant local authority covering the area of study.
